Liturgical Ministry at St. John's
Music Ministry
- Instrumentalist ~ provide musical accompaniment at Masses.
- Cantors ~ lead the parish in response and song at Mass.
- Adult Choir ~ leads the congregation in music at 10:00 Mass on Sundays or 5:15 p.m. Mass Saturday.
- TrueBlue ~ Youth choir, grades 9-12th and college.
- Choir for Christ Children's Choir ~ grades K-8th grade

- Funeral Choir ~ Sings during weekday funeral liturgies.
Liturgical Ministry
Liturgical Ministry Schedule
- Ushers direct the congregation in seating and movement during communion, they take up the offering and assist people when needs arise. Training provided.
- Greeter Ministry at our weekend liturgies helps create a friendly atmosphere where people feel at home in our parish community. Training provided.
- Lectors proclaim God's living Word at weekend and special liturgies approximately once a month. Must be an active parishioner. Training is provided.
- Eucharistic Ministers assist the priests in the distribution of Holy Communion with reverence and dignity at Mass. Must be a confirmed parishioner. Training is provided.
- Sacristans prepare the altar for weekend Mass including setting up and seeing that everything is put back in its proper place. Ideal for families or individuals. Schedule rotates monthly. Training provided.
- Gift bearers present bread and wine for the celebration of the Eucharist at weekend liturgies. Schedule rotates monthly.
- Altar Servers can be any boys or girls 4th grade and older. Serve at the Lord's table for Sunday and Holy Day liturgies. Training provided.
- Adult Altar Servers, male or female, are welcome to serve at weekday Masses. Training provided.
- Altar Linen Ministry Wash and iron altar linens and purificators used during the Mass.
- Candle Ministry Check, clean and replace votive candles on weekends and check candelabras after special occations.
Environment/Church Decoration Committee
If you have an eye for design or if you just love flowers and green things, the decorating committee would enjoy your company. Our church decoration incorporates beauty and liturgical meaning based on the book "To Crown the Year". Some tasks include changing drape colors, tending fresh flowers, or seasonal decorations such as setting up the nativity. Consider joining us.
