Funeral Ministry

A time to extend compassion to others in our parish family in their time of grief by helping with the funeral luncheon.

     * Monthly co-host - Share the responsibility of coordinating a funeral

luncheon. Workers are available to help set tables, serve and clean

           up.

     * Luncheon Support - Set-up, clean-up or serve at the funeral

luncheons. Typically 2-1/2 hours per funeral on a rotating basis.

     * Baking - Bake desserts occasionally.

Welcome Newcomer Ministry

If you feel there are no strangers, only friends you haven't met yet, you would fit in with the Welcome Ministry. Help new parishioners feel welcome and become part of our faith community.

     * Phone callers - Welcome newcomers via the phone.

     * Parish Ambassadodrs - familiarize newcomers and their families with

            parish activities in our parish.

Care Ministry

Through Christ we all are connected to each other. Reach out to those in our parish who are unable to attend Mass: the sick, homebound or hospitalized, and give them a sense of belonging to our faith community. Visits can be weekly, bi-weekly or monthly. You may choose to bring communion or just visit. Training is provided. Background check is required.

Mankato House

Do you find it easy to connect with people you've just met? The residents at Mankato House nursing facility would enjoy your company. Work with a partner to set-up and assist at Mass on Thursdays at 3:00 p.m. Approximately 5-6 times per year.

Prayer Leaders at Assisted Living Facilities

Share your values and beliedfs with others as a Prayer Leader of a communion service at local assisted living facilities. Training is provided. Choose from various times: First Friday 10:00 a.m., Thursdays at 3:00 p.m. or on Sundays at 11:00 a.m. Commitment is approximately six times per year.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

If you have a talent for crocheting or knitting and empathy for how others are feeling, consider making prayer shawls/lap robes for those with serious illinesses. As you knit or crochet, pray for the person who will receive the shawl. When a shawl/lap robe is given, the person receiving it will be wrapped in the prayers of those who made it. Others will deliver the shawls.

Pre-Jordan Ministers

Make home visits to parents who are preparing for the Baptism of their first child. Be welcoming and prepare them for the Baptismal rite, making sure their paperwork is in order. Training is provided. Couples are preferred but individuals are welcome.

Family Ministry

Does your enthusiasm energize those around you? Join with others in the Family Ministry to build up family life with positive, faith-filled activites throughout the year. Events include the Couples Dinner, Advent and Lenten fairs.

Childcare Coordinator

Organize volunteers to care for children while their parents attend church events, faith workshops or parish meeting. Volunteers to care for the children will be provided.

Nursery Attendant

Watch younger children play in an adult supervised environment while parents are attending the Sunday morning 10:00 a.m. Mass. Must be 18 years of age or older or assisted by an adult if age 10-17. Serve once every 3 months or so, September through May.
